Sri Lanka Social Development Library Institute was estabilished in 1992. It is registered at the National secretariat for NGOs, under the Act no 31 of 1980, which was amended by the Act no of 1990 which act is for the purpose of registration no : L 23401.
Main Aim of this institute is to alleviate proverty through awarness raisind and capacity building of the target population.

An excellent rural based organization breaking social development barries through innovative and sustainable training and educational appoaches.
An Organization providing efficient services by working together with the government and non governmental organizations using a team of activists committed for identifying the peoples, affected due to development constraints whilst introducing appropriate solutions to benifit them.
Objectives
To provide the mediationg support and assistance to the commiunity and to mobilize them be formed in to Community Based Organizations (CBOs) or "Social Development Libraries" of which bodies the purpose is to overcoming the social development barriers and to help achieve and fulfil their following necessities, namely;
- Education and Training
- Health and Nutritional
- Safety Drinking water supply and Sanitation
- Economical and Infrastructure
- Envirinmental and agricultural
- Social and Political
- Religious and Cultural
through the participation and contribution of allthose elements, namely the commiunity, the government sector, NGOs, private sector and other supporting bodies to mean sustainble development for all.
